The Richland County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 3 adopted a resolution awarding the contract for Project BRP-BRJ-0039(049) to Gladen Construction Inc. for the low bid of $755,610.90 and authorized the chairman to sign the contract. The resolution states the county will reimburse the North Dakota Department of Transportation for any payments under the contract that are not collectible from the Federal Highway Administration.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved a separate resolution, on a motion by Nathan Berseth and second by Rollie Ehlert, authorizing box culverts in Lamars and Fairmount townships. Jesse Sedler updated the board on the Helendale Bridge, reporting the project is waiting on an archaeological study; Sedler said a bid opening is possible in March with construction likely during the summer and into the fall subject to study results and procurement timelines.
The minutes include the full resolution text awarding the bridge contract; no additional contract start or completion dates beyond the expected construction season were recorded in the meeting minutes.
