Richland County board elects Tim Campbell chair, Terry Goerger vice chair; two commissioners sworn in

At its Dec. 3 meeting the Richland County Board of Commissioners elected Tim Campbell chair and Terry Goerger vice chair, and State's Attorney Kummer administered the oath of office to newly elected Commissioners Perry Miller and Tim Campbell. Motions to approve routine agenda items were unanimous.
The Richland County Board of Commissioners reorganized its leadership at a Dec. 3 meeting, electing Commissioner Tim Campbell as chair and Commissioner Terry Goerger as vice chair. State's Attorney Kummer administered the oath of office to newly elected Commissioners Perry Miller and Tim Campbell during the opening of the meeting.
The board convened with Commissioners Nathan Berseth, Tim Campbell, Rollie Ehlert, Terry Goerger and Perry Miller listed as present. The meeting opened with a unanimous vote to approve the agenda on a motion by Campbell and second by Berseth, and the Nov. 12 meeting minutes were approved on a motion by Goerger, seconded by Berseth.
On nominations for leadership, Commissioner Berseth nominated Tim Campbell for chair. Commissioner Goerger moved to cease nominations and cast a unanimous ballot; the board voted unanimously to elect Campbell chair. Commissioner Miller nominated Terry Goerger for vice chair; Berseth and Miller moved and seconded the motion to cease nominations and cast a unanimous ballot, and Goerger was elected vice chair. Commissioner Campbell then presided over the remainder of the meeting.
The leadership changes take effect immediately for the board's administrative and meeting duties. The board's next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 17, 2024, and the auditor/administrator indicated 2025 portfolio assignments will be supplied to the chair ahead of the new year.
