Public Works and Parks Commissioner Kendra Murphy reported on planning for the Stamping Out Hunger event, which she said will operate similarly to a regular auction and her goal is to keep it self-sustaining without using city money. Chief Whitlock offered to contact other jurisdictions to learn how they ensure donations are distributed to those most in need rather than being resold.
The commission recorded no formal votes on these items; both are community-engagement efforts that staff and volunteers will continue to prepare for ahead of scheduled event dates.
