The City of Stamping Ground approved logistics and financial handling for the community event "Stamping Out Hunger." Commissioner Kendra Murphy told the council the event will be held Oct. 13 at Buffalo Square from 2:00–5:00 p.m., with a live auction beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The council voted to permit the live auction and, in a separate motion, to establish a dedicated bank account for funds raised for Stamping Out Hunger. Both motions were moved and seconded (Murphy moved the auction; Swartz seconded; Mayor Keith Murphy moved to create the account and Swartz seconded) and passed 4-0.
The minutes record the motions and approvals but do not provide a projected fundraising target, budget line, or detailed oversight plan for the account; follow-up steps will be administrative processing of the newly designated account and event coordination.
