Kelty discussed adapting to lighting issues and memorizing a classical bass solo at state, and Rita described making state with two percussion solos and earning superior and excellent ratings.
Amanda then asked the percussion ensemble to play on the district’s newly purchased vibraphone, marimba and concert chimes; the board members praised the performance and noted plans to expand percussion use across district programming.
Board members and the student representative expressed appreciation for the students’ work and the instrument purchase; there were no votes associated with the presentation.
