The Denali Borough School District board approved several governance and personnel actions during its regular session.
The board adopted the second and final reading for a set of board policies (BP numbers read into the record) by voice vote with no opposition. The board also moved to adopt the first reading of an additional set of policies and advanced them to a second reading at a future meeting.
On personnel, the board moved to approve the rehiring list for classified and exempt staff for the 2025–26 school year. Tina conducted a roll call for that motion; each named board member voted yes and the motion passed unanimously. The rehiring list was read into the record and includes multiple district employees (names read aloud during the meeting).
The board also read and approved a series of resolutions recognizing departing staff for years of service. Resolutions honoring Christie Piercy, Chantelle Hammond, Jenny Mason, Justin Mason and Cassandra (Cass) Maroche (and others) were presented and adopted by voice vote; each resolution recited years of service and the employees’ roles in district schools.
Finally, the board approved a full‑time principal/teacher contract for Jamie Wolman for the 2025–26 school year. Board members discussed Wolman’s background and planned responsibilities overseeing multiple sites; a roll call confirmed unanimous approval.
The meeting recorded voice votes for many routine items and roll calls for major personnel approvals.
