The board moved to appoint Tammy Olin to the vacant school board seat for District 3 to serve until the next election. The motion was made, seconded and approved by roll call; the clerk administered the oath and Olin was seated.
Following an executive session to elect officers, the board reported the results in open session: the board president accepted the presidential seat, Kristen Bridal was named vice president, and Jenna Ham was named secretary.
Tammy Olin addressed the board during an earlier interview when asked about motivations and strengths. "I'm very good at organizing and thinking through different angles in-depth," Olin told members, and said she would serve "as long as y'all and people wanna elect me and have me served."
The board asked newly appointed members to remain for the regular session and to sign oath paperwork; the vote was recorded by roll call (Peyton — yes; Lauren — yes; Forrest — yes; Kristen — yes; Jenna — yes; Katie — yes; Dawn — yes).
