Commission reviews department reports, allows banner swaps and approves prior minutes

At the Nov. 5 meeting the Stamping Ground commission heard brief department reports, approved prior minutes and completed closing business.
Police Chief Don Whitlock and Assistant Chief John Giles said the remaining Flock cameras will be installed around the first of the year (2025). Fire Chief Robert Hendricks and Assistant Chief Andrew Tackett reported that Steven Popp repaired the fire training center charging materials only ($800); City Clerk Reda Conn submitted the invoice and it has been paid. Commissioner David Clark said three economic-development projects are underway but offered no further detail.
Steven Popp sought and received permission from the commission to remove Veterans’ banners and install holiday banners; Mayor Keith Murphy said Popp could perform the work at the end of next week (noted Nov. 15). The commission voted to approve the Oct. 15, 22 and 24, 2024 minutes on a motion by Commissioner David Clark, seconded by Commissioner Billy Swartz; the motion passed 5 to 0.
No executive session was held. Mayor Murphy offered closing remarks noting the Stamping Out Hunger distribution was successful and that volunteer and fire-department help enabled deliveries to be completed in about an hour. The meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
