Lake Country board approves 2nd-grade trip to Shedd Aquarium and hears FY2025 audit

The Lake Country School District Board approved Resolution #1255 on Dec. 15, authorizing an out-of-state field trip for the district’s 2nd-grade class to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois. Steve Maurer moved the resolution; Heather Wooten seconded it and the motion passed 5-0.
Earlier in the meeting, Wendi Unger of Baker-Tilly presented the district’s fiscal year 2025 audit, reviewing audit results and summary financial information. Board members received the audit report and had the opportunity to ask questions during the regular session at the Lake Country School library media center in Hartland.
The board also approved routine consent items, including the Nov. 17, 2025 regular meeting minutes and the November 2025 vouchers and credit card statements, on a motion by Jhawn Newman, seconded by Matt Sherman (5-0). The district’s business administrator, Melissa Schoeder, reported on a forthcoming “LCSD Taxes Update” presentation that will be posted to the district website to explain how individual tax bills interact with state revenue-limit calculations.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Jhawn Newman, seconded by Matt Sherman; the session ended at 6:11 p.m.
