Board adopts School Links, Summit K12 (ELL) and student/athletic handbook updates
Summary

The Chino Valley Unified School District board voted July 13 to adopt two new curricula and approve handbook and policy updates ahead of the 2026–27 school year.
Mr. Rudnick (Speaker 11) presented School Links, a college- and career-readiness program the district piloted March–June 2026; the adoption committee (including parents, teachers and administrators) recommended the program and the board approved freshman implementation. Rudnick also presented Summit K12 Connect to Literacy, an ELL curriculum with family/guest account features; the board approved adoption and staff said the vendor guarantees a year’s growth if program guidelines are followed.
Mrs. Price (Speaker 10) presented the CVHS (CBHS) student handbook for 2026–27, describing a streamlined online handbook that uses links to policy language and a change limiting early release privileges to seniors to encourage CTE enrollment; the board approved the handbook. Athletic staff (Mister Foster, Speaker 3) described revisions to the athletic handbook aligning disciplinary tiers with school policy and AIA guidance; the updates were approved.
The board also received routine personnel and surplus reports and approved the consent agenda and personnel items that prepare the district for the new school year.
What’s next: Staff will implement both curricula and report on adoption success and metrics; handbook language will be published online for families.
