Airport Director Jeff Gilmore updated the council on airport projects and operations. He said the new hangar bifold door is installed but needs a final two-inch closing adjustment to form a proper weather seal; Gilmore said the contractor must finish the work and that the additional effort is covered under the contract price. He also reported the fuel pad and pump cover are complete and that advisory-committee work on a leasing fee schedule will return to the council within one month to six weeks.
On a separate agenda item, staff recommended and the council approved a supplemental MOU with Colfax County to cooperatively prepare and, if appropriate, administer a 2027 RAISE grant application for rural air service enhancement at Angel Fire (KAXX). Colfax County’s commission approved the same MOU earlier the same day, and council members voted to authorize staff to coordinate with the county on the application and any subsequent administrative steps.
The council also discussed a sponsorship-transfer item with the FAA that remains pending; the airport director said he planned to contact the relevant federal office in Washington to help move the process forward.
Outcome: airport operations updates noted; council approved the RAISE MOU by roll-call vote and directed staff to proceed with cooperative grant preparation.
