The Common Council introduced two voluntary annexation ordinances and set public hearings for Aug. 11, 2026.
Staff described Ordinance 33-07-26 as a voluntary annexation of roughly 99 acres in Wayne Township (the East 156th Street area) for a planned development called Encore at Linden Walk. The planning staff said the underlying plan development allows up to 210 age‑targeted dwelling units and requested a fiscal plan and public hearing; council approved establishing the hearing date by hand vote (recorded as 8-0).
For Ordinance 34-07-26, staff described an adjacent parcel that the Parks at Crossroads plan development encompasses. The transcript at one point refers to the annexation area as approximately 60 acres and later as approximately 55 acres; staff asked that a public hearing be set for Aug. 11. The plan development includes a mix of single‑family products, townhomes, duplex units and alley‑loaded products. Council approved setting the public hearing by hand vote (recorded as 8-0).
Both items were introduced for consideration and will return to the council for public hearings on Aug. 11, 2026. Staff submitted fiscal analyses and planning summaries as part of the introductions.
