A committee member moved to approve the additional appropriation for the two items; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Members discussed the YMCA's schedule and procurement timeline in the context of the appropriation. Chair said the YMCA is between contractors and has issued an RFP for interior (phase 2) work, with "substantial construction completion targeted for December '27," though staff said an earlier finish is possible if circumstances allow. Committee members noted multi-funder projects and RFP timing can slow progress.
Following the appropriation vote, the group also voted to advertise funding for the YMCA. A member moved to advertise the YMCA funding at approximately $80,000 (or "whatever funding is required to meet the prior commitment"); the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Members instructed staff to place the advertisement and have the item ready for the next meeting so the county can meet advertising/notice timelines.
