Supervisors approve routine claims, payroll change, fees and forward manure plans to DNR

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors handled several routine items at its July 13 meeting, approving claims, a payroll change, fee adjustments and tax-relief paperwork, hearing an engineering update and forwarding manure-management plans to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The board approved claims as presented after review; a motion and second were recorded and the board carried the motion by voice vote. Members also approved a payroll change for the finance director effective July 1, 2026, following a motion to approve.
The Chair requested and the board approved a motion to exceed quarterly and monthly report fees for the recorder and the clerk (items 4 and 5). The board next considered tax-relief paperwork for Daniel Sloughbill (item 10) and approved it as presented.
An engineering department representative summarized routine road-crew operations, including stockpiling, crossroad tube work and the start of hot-mix asphalt projects this week; members asked staff to follow up on an outside call about a road in Missouri and staff said they would follow up.
For manure-management items 12 —— , a committee member said there were no changes to acres or fields and moved to approve all four plans and forward them to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for approval; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
A motion to adjourn was later made and carried by voice vote.
