Greece Central board approves routine personnel, contracts and donations; welcomes four new administrators

The Greece Central School District Board of Education on Monday approved a slate of routine items and introduced four new administrators to the community.
Votes: The board approved the meeting agenda (moved Butler; seconded Farmer), staffing (moved Sawicki; seconded Seaman), tenure recommendations (moved Seaman; seconded Bonagherio), acceptance of an MOA tuition-reimbursement agreement (moved Seaman; seconded Farmer), and the nonunit rate sheet (moved LaPlaca; seconded Sawicki). The board also approved non-district transportation requests (moved Farmer; seconded Sawicki) and the Monroe 1 BOCES transportation contract (moved Seaman; seconded LaPlaca). A data privacy agreement with Monroe 1 BOCES was approved (moved Siemens; seconded Butler). All recorded votes were unanimous, 9–0.
Donations: During the consent agenda the board acknowledged donations totaling $30,742.44, including support from the Greece Education Foundation for magnetic letters and trays, the University of Rochester for prize support, the New York Life Foundation for the grief-sensitive schools initiative, and a donation to the Linda Ingram scholarship from Michael Setzer.
New administrators: Assistant Superintendent Gina Larson introduced Lynn Gerolimo as assistant director of digital innovation (27 years in the district; degrees from SUNY Brockport and Nazareth College). Gail Watson was welcomed as principal of Craig Hill Elementary (former social studies teacher and assistant principal roles). Luisa Cortellini was introduced as assistant principal at Holmes Road Elementary (Saint John Fisher graduate; long-time district educator). Kaley Casto returns as a house assistant principal with prior experience teaching middle school science and AP biology.
Background and next steps: Budget and revenue status reports were presented for information only. The districtwide safety plan was presented separately and will be posted for a 30-day public review before a possible August vote. The meeting adjourned after a final unanimous vote.
