Stephens City Town Council voted unanimously on both the first and second readings of an ordinance to adopt the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget and appropriate funds.
The Town Clerk read the ordinance title for the first reading at Mayor Mike Grim’s request; Councilman Joseph Hollis moved to adopt and the vote carried with recorded Aye votes. The Clerk then read the ordinance title a second time and Councilman Linden A. Fravel moved adoption; the council again recorded unanimous Aye votes for the second reading.
Mayor Grim told the council that the third and final reading for the budget would occur at the June Town Council meeting. The minutes do not include a dollar total or line-item breakdown for the budget in the May 1 record; those figures were not specified during the meeting minutes.
