Portage EMS representative Cody Doucette provided the board with an early operational update on Jan. 7: Portage had two calls in the Jan. 1–7 period and recently completed joint training with the Pardeeville Fire Department, including a Stop the Bleed session training 20 members.
Doucette explained that Pardeeville Fire will not respond to every EMS call; countywide policy calls for the local fire department to be requested for pulseless non‑breathers (PNBs) and as needed for tasks such as lifting, moving equipment and clearing access routes. Portage said it will produce more detailed reports (calls within the village, response times and related metrics) as staff build custom outputs in new software.
The board noted the cooperative training plans and requested future operational reports once Portage EMS is comfortable with its reporting tools.
