He also noted that orange strikethroughs and green additions in the draft show where wording was changed from "handbook" to "agreement" and where Subdivision 44 (a notice provision) was restored to give the district time to advertise and replace positions.
Board members asked clarifying questions about exempt positions and how a proposed head-cook role would be handled; Hinkley said that employee would be offered a one-year exempt contract to start, with benefits comparable to existing administrative staff and an evaluation at the end of the year. "She verbally accepted and starts at the end of August," Hinkley said.
The board moved and seconded the measure and approved the support-staff agreement as presented by a 7—0 vote. No amendments were offered during the meeting. The superintendent said he will present the exempt employee—s contract in August with specific compensation and benefits details.
The meeting record shows the district is transitioning recordkeeping from Skyward to Smart and that transportation reporting previously handled in monthly reports will appear in the superintendent—s updates after the vendor transition. The board also requested an operational update on the transition at future meetings.
The board—s next regular meeting is scheduled for the second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.; the superintendent said he will return in August with any follow-up materials related to the support-staff agreement and personnel contracts.
