Trustees at the Village of Plain regular meeting on March 11 approved the February 11, 2026 minutes, authorized payment of presented bills and heard updates from committees and staff.
Kelly Yanke moved to approve the February 11 meeting minutes; Steve Whitford seconded and the motion carried. Later in the meeting Yanke moved to pay the bills as presented; Wade Neubauer seconded and the motion carried. Reported fund movements and payments included: General Fund $68,405.18; Water Utility $9,179.83; Library Fund $4,619.16; Sewer Department $8,229.69; TIF District $79,868.31; Golf Course $278.24. Wage reimbursements were listed as $20,562.98.
On infrastructure, Trustee Steve Whitford reported the sewer main on the Highway 23 project was lined by contractor Visu-Sewer. Public Works Director John Ruhland said crews worked with Kraemer Brothers on dugouts, replaced water meters, continued projects at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and planned meter readings for the following week.
Library matters were reported by Trustee Cindy Haag: a representative from the PCB Wealth Management Program updated the board on library investments; the board reviewed the Wisconsin DPI Public Library Annual Report for 2025. Haag said the library will be closed April 13 and 14 for a system migration, had closed March 5 for staff training, will hold a cybersecurity class March 18, and scheduled Family Night (Pancake Art) Feb. 26 and a Mid-Morning Matinee March 19. The next library board meeting is March 30.
Recreation updates from Trustee Kelly Yanke included an upcoming interview for the recreation director position, part-time assistance from Mya Walsh, ongoing lifeguard recruitment, a meeting with pool managers April 1 and a Recreation Committee meeting April 6. Kraemer Brothers is working on ballfield dugouts.
Utility performance and laboratory results were recorded in the minutes: total water pumpage for February was 1,285,000 gallons (Well No. 1: 687,000; Well No. 2: 598,000), 12,000 gallons more than the previous year. Monthly average chlorine was 0.20 ppm; two bacteriological samples sent to the state lab tested safe. Wastewater monthly averages included influent B.O.D. 179 mg/L and effluent B.O.D. 4 mg/L; influent T.S.S. 463 mg/L and effluent T.S.S. 10 mg/L. Total gallons treated were 1,372,000.
Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Sheila Carver told the board the Board of Review will meet by adjournment from a 6:55 p.m. meeting before the May meeting and scheduled the Board of Review for Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.; Open Book for the assessor is set for Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Trustee Wade Neubauer moved to adjourn at 7:26 p.m.; Kelly Yanke seconded and the motion carried.
