Council to consider widening eroded section of West Brown Road; work said to be budgeted

"The edges of the road have, eroded away and chipped off as people pull to the edges to pass each other," the chair said, explaining the proposed repairs and a quote that exceeds the chair's spending authority but is included in the current budget and therefore will be brought back to the council at the next meeting.
A committee member asked whether widening the roadway would affect drainage. Staff responded that the work would rely on the existing ditch on one side and a hill on the other and would not move into the ditches or alter drainage, indicating the project is intended to avoid added drainage work.
There was no vote; the council expects staff to bring the budgeted quote and related materials to the next meeting for formal consideration.
