At its Oct. 14 meeting the Port Wing Town Board approved the submission of the Zoning Code Rewrite Survey and covered several administrative items.
Town Clerk Pam Lawrenz Holt reported on the recent Election Conference and said she will obtain quotes for new election technology, specifically Badger Books and a ballot scanner. The board discussed a recycling contamination penalty program and set the first budget workshop for Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. Board members also reported meeting with Rural Insurance about the 2026 renewal and said they will review building values and large equipment to inform the insurance update.
Under ongoing business the board discussed the Town Policy Handbook updates for sewer and water information, the ongoing solar project and related tax-credit review, and the need to document a driveway/culvert permitting process for inclusion in a future resolution. No formal ordinances or purchases were authorized at the meeting; the board instructed staff to gather quotes and draft policies for future consideration.
