Solicitor reports Rosales, Browning enforcement actions; manager search open and ambulance support agreement under review

Solicitor Mike Crotty briefed commissioners during the July 14 caucus on ongoing code enforcement work. He said a hearing for the Rosales property is scheduled toward the end of the month and that the owner has requested a continuance; Crotty said citations have been filed and staff are pursuing compliance.

On 226 Meeting House (the Browning property), Crotty said the township has filed a complaint in court and is continuing to pursue remediation. He added that a potential buyer or a lienholder has indicated interest in stepping in to take over and clean up the site, but the township will continue enforcement efforts.

Crotty also flagged several items coming before the board later this month, including a zoning map update that will require county planning commission review and an ordinance/amendment packet staff are preparing for review.

Separately, Crotty said the Boothland Ambulance administrative support agreement — a proposal under which the township would provide back‑office support to the ambulance company — was returned with revisions from the ambulance company; Crotty said that revised agreement "may be before us at the end of the month." The manager said staff must work through capacity questions before the township takes on back‑office responsibilities.

The manager search is live on the township website and social media with an application closing date of Aug. 14; Crotty asked commissioners to help spread the word.

Board President (name not stated) also informed residents that some Upper Chichester addresses were mistakenly receiving bills from Aston Township for an Advanced Life Support authority fee and urged residents not to pay the erroneous bills; the township plans to send a corrective letter this week and to work with the other authority to remove incorrect addresses from billing lists.
