Selectboard reviews assessing updates, staff changes and planning board action; agrees to repost truck for sale

At the Oct. 16 Selectboard meeting, staff circulated routine correspondence and updates.
Town staff noted the DRA’s MS-434-R revision raised the Room & Meals tax estimate used to set the 2024 tax rate. Assessing staff Brandon McGahan provided a status update on the assessing department, reporting a pending Board of Tax and Land Appeals (BTLA) case and saying he had sent a second written request to discuss a possible settlement. Granite Hill Municipal Services notified the town of a personnel change: Angela Silva was named assessing supervisor and Todd Haywood will handle administrative duties for the firm.
Chase Kling reported the Planning Board approved the Mountain View Hideaway, LLC street plat with no waivers required; the transcript notes that "Miller" will still need to complete a document for Selectboard approval to request authority to work on a Class VI road. The Selectboard also agreed to repost the 2019 F-550 highway truck on Municibid.com with a $35,000 asking price. Moderator Harry Pease emailed the board about the town’s Continuity of Operations Plan; Kling said he would discuss it further with the Town Clerk and the Moderator.
These items were presented as correspondence and routine administrative business; several (assessing settlement discussions and CRF determinations for the fire trailer) will require follow-up by staff.
