Orange Select Board approves $24,500 bathroom renovation and signs building permit

On Oct. 1 the Orange Select Board approved a $24,500 bathroom renovation bid to Cardigan Carpentry (to be completed by Town Meeting), approved a building permit for Mathis/Pitre at 54 Tuttle Hill Rd, sealed several nonpublic minutes and entered a brief nonpublic personnel session.
The Select Board of Orange, New Hampshire, voted Oct. 1 to accept a $24,500 bid from Cardigan Carpentry to renovate a bathroom in the Town House and approved a building permit for Mathis and Pitre for property at 54 Tuttle Hill Road.
The board meeting opened at 6:00 p.m. and recorded attendance. Aaron Allen moved to approve the Mathis/Pitre building permit after the board confirmed the Building Inspector had signed the application and the fee had been received; Betsy Coble seconded and the motion passed 3–0–0. Later in the meeting the board reviewed a bathroom renovation bid and Aaron Allen moved to accept the $24,500 bid from Cardigan Carpentry; Betsy Coble seconded and the motion passed 3–0–0. The board asked that the project be completed on or before Town Meeting (mid‑March 2025) and noted a portable toilet will be provided at the worksite during construction.
The board also approved several procedural motions. Betsy Coble moved to approve the public minutes from the Sept. 17 meeting and to seal the nonpublic Sept. 17 minutes; Sandi Pierson seconded and both motions passed 3–0–0. Aaron Allen moved, and Sandi Pierson seconded, to seal minutes from multiple 2024 nonpublic meetings (April 16, May 7, June 18, Aug. 5, Aug. 20 and Sept. 3); that motion also passed 3–0–0.
At 6:40 p.m. the board voted to enter nonpublic session under RSA 91‑A:3‑c to discuss a personnel matter; the board returned from nonpublic at 6:46 p.m. with no actions reported. The meeting adjourned at 6:47 p.m.; the next Select Board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2024 at 6 p.m.
