Crested Butte council approves letter to fire district on Search and Rescue lease and clears routine consent items

Town Manager Dara MacDonald presented the letter regarding a long-term lease for Search and Rescue; Council member Beth Goldstone moved and Gabi Prochaska seconded approval and authorization for the Mayor to sign. The motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
The consent agenda, approved earlier in the meeting on a unanimous roll call, included five items: approval of the April 6, 2026 meeting minutes; adoption of Resolution No. 09, Series 2026 authorizing execution of documents related to the assignment of declarant rights for the Habitat Paradise Park townhouses at 101 and 103 Ninth Street (staff contact: Housing Director Erin Ganser); a delegation letter supporting continued FTA Section 5339 funding (staff contact: Town Manager Dara MacDonald); approval of the Crested Butte Farmers Market special events application to close the 10 and 100 blocks of Elk Avenue on Sundays from May 31 to Oct. 11, 2026 (staff contact: Town Clerk Lynelle Stanford); and appointment of the municipal representative to the Gunnison Basin Roundtable (staff contact: Public Works Director Shea Earley).
Council reports followed and the Council confirmed scheduled work sessions and regular meetings in May and June. Mayor Ian Billick adjourned the meeting at 8:51 p.m.
