Fire chief to draft municipal trash-collection business plan for Plaistow

Fire Chief Chris Knutsen reported to the Plaistow TRAC committee on Feb. 20, 2025, that he is developing a municipal trash-collection business plan. Knutsen said the plan will evaluate whether the Town of Plaistow could provide the same collection service at a lower cost or allocate the same funding toward improved services such as bulk-item collection and disposal.
No fiscal estimates or operational details were presented at the meeting. Knutsen said he will bring more information to the committee at its next meeting on March 20, 2025. Committee members recorded the report as new business and did not take formal action at this meeting.
