The Eastchester Town Board on July 7 handled a slate of routine items in addition to several substantive votes.
The board approved the minutes of its June 16 meeting and received the police department's June report, which included event coordination for the town's 250th celebration and announcements for National Night Out on Aug. 4 and the PBA golf outing on Sept. 29.
On finance items, the board voted to approve miscellaneous budget transfers and to maintain the town's designated depositaries while adding junior signatories to ensure continuity between the outgoing and incoming controllers. The procurement policy was updated to add Noreen McGinty and remove Dawn Donovan from purchasing authority.
The board accepted a $5,000 community fund grant for Teen Zone transportation and activities and a separate $50,000 community fund grant for senior programs covering nutrition, transportation, light housekeeping and other services. The board also authorized going out to bid for a caterer for congregate and home-delivered senior meals; these actions passed by unanimous roll calls.
Council members used their reports to thank volunteers and highlight 250th celebration events, upcoming concerts at Lake Isle and other community programming. With no further public comment, the board adjourned.
