The Pease Development Authority board voted on April 15 to adopt a revised schedule of nine parking, launching and vessel‑storage fees for the Hampton and Rye Harbor marine facilities. The fees take effect May 1, 2025; the board also authorized the operations manager to submit the adopted schedule to the office of legislative services for publication under RSA 12‑G:42 and RSA 5:41‑A.
The change followed a motion to remove the fee items from the table (they had been tabled at the March 11 meeting) and a second motion to approve the schedule as drafted in the operations memorandum. Operations staff said the updated rates reflect a market study and attempts to remain below comparable nearby parking rates while creating room for future revenue growth to support harbor maintenance and capital needs.
Board discussion emphasized managing short‑term parking for retail visitors ("grab‑and‑go" spaces) and keeping customer service staff available to direct users to the appropriate short‑term or daily‑fee spaces. Staff described site management measures (parking attendants at Rye and Hampton) to ensure short‑term spaces remain available for quick visits while whale‑watch and long‑duration users are directed to general parking and assessed the daily fee as appropriate.
The board moved, seconded and approved the fee schedule by voice vote. Staff will file the adopted schedule with legislative services as required by RSA and implement the new rates May 1.
