Education Committee approves copier and Apple lease agreements; budget amendments docketed for information

The Sumner County Education Committee convened April 6 at 5:34 p.m. in the Sumner County Administration building in Gallatin. Chairman Danny Sullivan called the meeting to order and Commissioner Wes Wynne gave the invocation.
The committee unanimously adopted the meeting agenda after Commissioner Darrell Rogers moved and Commissioner Baker Ring seconded the motion. Commissioner Darrell Rogers then moved to approve the March 2, 2026 minutes; Commissioner Wes Wynne seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The committee docketed seven Sumner County Board of Education budget amendments for information only (Amendments 4, 134, 183, 281, 283, 290 and 292). No action was taken on the amendments during the meeting; they were listed for informational/docketing purposes.
Under new business the agenda included proposed Canon copier lease agreements for Madison Creek Elementary and the Central Office Operations Department and an Apple lease purchase agreement. Commissioner Baker Ring moved, and Commissioner Merrol Hyde seconded, to group items 10b (the Canon copier leases) and 10c (the Apple lease purchase agreement) and approve them together. The committee carried the grouped motion unanimously.
Chairman Sullivan noted that Dr. Langford was expected to arrive but might not be present before the meeting ended and, without objection, moved the Innovation Center update to old business. The committee recorded no public comments and the County Mayor reported no items.
The meeting adjourned at 5:37 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Darrell Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Wes Wynne. The minutes were prepared by Jennifer Mitchell.
