The Canton Township Board approved Resolution 2026‑39 on July 14 to adopt the final site plan for Fillmore Place phases 4 and 5, allowing 100 detached single‑family homes on the west side of the previously approved development district.
Supervisor Grama Hudek read staff’s report describing the project and its regulatory history. The board record notes a 2025 second amendment to the Fillmore Place PDD changed the mix and number of residential units; the current final plan reduces the number of units by 151 compared with earlier approvals. Staff told the board that the applicant has obtained required state and county permits and that remaining township permits will be issued after the deposit of performance guarantees and completion of a preconstruction meeting.
Planning staff told the board the planning commission recommended approval at its May 4 meeting. Community planner Patrick answered trustees’ questions and said he was available to respond to technical queries. Trustee Foster and others indicated they had no further comments and the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
Next steps: the applicant must deposit performance guarantees and comply with township permit requirements before construction begins.
