Selectboard swears in new member, elects chair and votes to return to weekly meetings

The Pittsburg Selectboard opened its March 24 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for Marjorie Stroh before administering the oath to newly elected selectman Ronald Clark.
At SEG 468 board members swore in the newest selectman. After the oath, the board proceeded to organize leadership. S3 nominated Toby Owen as chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote, at which point the new chair took over running the meeting.
Later in the meeting, S2 moved to return the selectboard to weekly meetings rather than the previous every-other-week schedule. The motion, with an amendment to stagger department heads so operational teams did not need to attend every meeting, passed by voice vote. The board agreed administrative time will start at 3:30 p.m. and the business meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning the next scheduled meeting.
The board also discussed appointing a vice chair; a motion to make Ron vice chair was made and seconded at SEG 2146–2152 and accepted by members present.
What happens next: The board will implement weekly meetings with department scheduling adjustments and circulate updated meeting times; the newly sworn selectman signed oath paperwork and will assume duties for his three-year term.
