Clifton council approves temporary signs for Villagio and Wine Shop; OKs benches and town trash cans
Summary
The council approved a temporary sign for Villagio Training (remove by Oct. 15) and a 45-day temporary sign for the Wine Shop, ordered two budgeted benches for Ayre Square, and noted public trash-can and map-signage plans for several town sites.
The Clifton Town Council on Sept. 3 approved several Architectural Review Board recommendations and small capital items:
Dwayne Nitz reported the ARB had approved Triangle signage and reviewed a bracketed sign request for the relocated Wine Shop that did not comply with current code. The council approved a temporary sign for Villagio Training with the condition it be removed by Oct. 15, 2013. A motion to approve the Wine Shops bracketed sign under code was withdrawn and the council instead approved a temporary sign for the Wine Shop for 45 days.
On other small capital items, the council voted to order two benches for Ayre Square on the Chapel Road side as budgeted; the motion directed Marcus Silva to coordinate installation with Councilor Wayne Nickum. Treasurer and council members also noted that public trash cans for the Town Park, Caboose Plaza and Ayre Square were completed; the council discussed adding a business map sign by the flagpole and asked the ARB to review a rough drawing as a temporary sign.
The ARB and council deferred any ordinance changes and indicated that longer-term signage proposals would be considered under a future code update.
