The Georgetown Planning Commission on July 15 approved updated exterior elevations for Oaks of Georgetown Phase 2, allowing Lennar to vary stone heights (water‑table, one‑story and two‑story configurations) across five preapproved elevations to improve curb appeal and reduce a repetitive heavy‑stone appearance.
Rob Cohee, representing Lennar, said the change would permit greater variation while keeping other building features consistent. “By being able to fluctuate our stone height, we can add a little bit of likeness and better curb appeal to the building overall,” Cohee said.
Commissioners debated whether the stone options would affect consumer price; Cohee acknowledged stone typically carries a premium over siding but said each elevation is costed appropriately. After questions, a commissioner moved to approve the elevations; the motion passed on a unanimous roll‑call vote (Weaver: yes; Allen: aye; Roach: yes; Nelikates: yes; Chair: yes).
The approval updates the master‑plan elevation nomenclature to permit the additional options; final construction will still require the town’s site‑plan, utility and building‑code reviews.
