The Richmond Board of Selectmen voted Feb. 2 to approve a check detail totaling $1,131,931.10 for the week of Jan. 23–29, 2026, covering payroll and accounts payable. Selectman William Daniels moved the motion and Selectman Andrew Wallace seconded; the board approved the payment.
The check detail includes $412,128 sent to the Monadnock Regional School District and $707,133 in two payments to Cold River Bridges for work on the Whipple Hill Bridge replacement. The minutes record the board also earlier approved an ACH check detail dated Jan. 20, 2026 for $529.71 (moved by Selectman Douglas Bersaw and seconded by William Daniels).
Board members discussed the bridge payments in the context of the 2026 operating budget. During the meeting they considered adding an interest line for the Whipple Hill Road Bridge replacement in the General Government/General Buildings budget; the minutes show the town’s revised 2026 budget figure for that category rose from the previously requested $182,766 to a revised $224,766.
The actions recorded in the minutes were procedural approvals: motions to accept disbursement lists and routine accounts‑payable paperwork. No roll‑call vote tallies are recorded in the minutes; each item is noted as “board approved” after a motion and second.
The meeting opened at 5:31 p.m. and adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
