Orange Select Board approves minutes and permits, redirects donation, and sets follow‑ups

The Select Board of Orange met on Sept. 17 and handled routine governance items including approval of minutes and two building permits, redirection of a budgeted donation, action‑item reviews and a brief nonpublic personnel session.
Sandi Pierson moved and Betsy Coble seconded a motion to approve the public‑meeting minutes of Sept. 3, 2024; the motion passed 3–0–0. Pierson likewise moved (seconded by Coble) to approve the nonpublic meeting minutes of Sept. 3; that motion also passed 3–0–0. Later in the meeting the board approved building permits for Delgenio (54 Peaslee Rd) and Cooke (127 New Colony Rd); both permits were signed by the Building Inspector and motions to approve passed 3–0–0.
The board approved a motion (mover: Aaron Allen; second: Sandi Pierson) to redirect a budgeted donation originally for Visiting Nurses and Hospice of NH/VT to Lake Sunapee VNA & Hospice; the motion passed 3–0–0 and appears in the minutes as a closed action item.
Secretary Catherine Souza reported a Town House use permit for Sept. 21, 2024, shared notice of the NHMA annual meeting, and noted that Grafton County’s Backbone internet initiative may require equipment to be installed in the Town Hall; she will report back with more details. The board set its next meeting for Oct. 1, 2024 at 6 p.m. At 7:03 p.m. Chair Aaron Allen moved to enter nonpublic session pursuant to RSA 91‑A:3‑c to discuss a personnel issue; Sandi Pierson seconded and the motion passed 3–0–0. The board returned from nonpublic session at 7:14 p.m. and stated it took action; the meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
