At its Sept. 11 meeting the Town of Orford Selectboard received progress updates on several road and bridge projects that town staff expect to send to bid or complete in the coming weeks. Right Angle Engineering is finalizing plans with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services for wetland permitting on the Indian Pond culvert project and hopes to have a final design ready to put out to bid.
Selectboard member Chase Kling reported that Archertown Road Phase II has had its base and top coat of paving completed. The contractor, Wanner Earthmoving, will return to level driveways to road height, perform ditching and grading and repair the staging area before Blaktop completes shoulder work. Road Agent Nutter will work through the punch list for Phase I and Phase II.
The board reviewed a tentative multi‑year paving and construction schedule through 2027 prepared by Kling for planning and budget-season consideration, including items that may become warrant articles. Kevin Follensbee was assigned to report back after a scheduled monthly coordination call on the Archertown Bridge at Jacobs Brook.
The board discussed a Planning Board informal review of a proposed multi‑unit building at 485 Route 10 that could affect the Village Water District; Selectboard members noted the Fire Department will review applicable state and federal fire codes once a formal plan is submitted.
