Director (S2) and staff said Aware offers interventions for students with academic or social‑emotional needs and that the partnership is intended to help students remain successful in the classroom. "This is a really important service for our students and really important service for our our teachers," Director (S2) said as he recommended the agreement.
Staff described an existing Aware team in Daly and said the district would like to expand teams into additional schools. The board was told the agreement does not obligate district funds and that the service will be provided under the collaboration terms. Trustees voted to approve the agreement; staff recommended continuing to evaluate capacity and potential Medicaid or other funding opportunities to sustain and grow services.
Next steps: administration will finalize the collaboration paperwork and report to the board on caseloads, team expansion and any billing or reimbursement opportunities.
