On arrival, drivers should slow and pull up to the landfill scale house, where an employee will request proof of address, such as a driver’s license or a utility bill, to verify residency. The staff member said the amount dumped is tracked by address and that tipping fees will apply if a household exceeds 12,000 pounds within a year.
The landfill’s accepted-item list and fee schedule are posted on the city website. For more information on acceptable items, fees and any seasonal or operational changes, the staff member directed residents to www.kingsporttn.gov.
