The Three Rivers Community School District Board of Education unanimously approved a package of budget and procurement measures at its June 15 meeting in St. Joseph County.
President Erin Nowak called the Budget Hearing to order at 6:02 p.m.; after a presentation by Mandi Zaborowski, the board closed the Budget Hearing and, during the regular meeting, adopted the Final Amended 2025-26 General Fund budget and a series of 2026-27 preliminary budgets for the General Fund, Food Services and Student Activities. Each motion passed on a 4-0 roll-call vote with Amanda Allen, Julia Awe, Ross Daniels and Erin Nowak voting yea; Linda Baker, Elizabeth Ogreen and Melissa Patch were recorded as absent.
The board also adopted the Final Amended and Preliminary Food Services budgets and both the Final Amended and Preliminary Student Activities budgets, all by unanimous roll call. The board approved the 2026 Tax Rate Request Form L-4029 by the same vote.
On procurement, Chris Mankowski of Plante Moran Realpoint briefed the board on the RFP process and recommended awarding the TRCS middle-school ceiling-and-lights contract to Brussee/Brady Inc. The board approved the recommendation in a unanimous roll-call vote.
The Consent Agenda was approved unanimously and included approval of the May 18, 2026 regular-meeting minutes and the June 1, 2026 work session minutes; the May payroll change register; an Accounts Payable check register totaling $2,138,952.02; and a Bond Invoice Payment Report totaling $230,680.61.
The votes that resulted in formal adoption of the budgets and procurement actions were each recorded as 4-0 in favor. President Erin Nowak declared each motion approved unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
