Staff cautioned that material lead times for water infrastructure and hydrants are long amid supply delays. The on-site construction work is estimated at roughly 90 days once materials arrive; staff said materials could take “6 to 8 weeks” to be available in some cases and possibly longer for certain items, which could delay an anticipated start until late summer.
A councilor moved to award the contract in the amount of $1,065,561.14 for the Valley View Improvements project; the clerk called roll and the motion carried. The council thanked staff and citizens for attending, and the mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
Staff identified a 10% cash match and a 10% loan component associated with the CDBG funding; the cash-match figure was noted by staff as $37.05 (likely a transcription error) and staff confirmed the town has infrastructure funds to provide the required match.
