The Comfrey City Council voted to contract with Municipal Impact for a new city website after Clerk Kelly presented a comparison showing the current provider GovOffice would increase costs to $2,374 per year. Municipal Impact proposed an annual fee of $665 and a $400 one-time set-up fee and offers subscription notifications; the motion (Kastner seconded by Redman) carried unanimously.
Council discussed the municipal building boiler, which is 26 years old and operating at approximately 80% efficiency. The council has received an estimate from Schwickert’s and requested St. James Electric prepare an estimate; Region 9 and the mayor were notified about a possible grant that would require a 10% city match, which the minutes show could be up to $40,000. The council will wait for the St. James Electric estimate before deciding.
Other routine actions included approval of the 2025 tobacco license for the Comfrey C-Store and changing the January meeting to Jan. 7, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. (both motions carried unanimously).
