The Comfrey City Council on Dec. 10 adopted a final levy of $349,925 for 2025 and approved the city’s budget for the year. Council Member Redman moved to adopt the levy and budget; Council Member Arnsdorf seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
The council also approved establishing a Wastewater Infrastructure System Replacement Fund as required under the PFA financing agreement. The deposit tied to the financing — $.50 per 1,000 gallons of flow for the life of the loan — resulted in a transfer of $8,430.00 to the replacement fund at this time, a motion approved by Council Member Redman and seconded by Council Member Evers.
Council additionally authorized the clerk-treasurer to assign general funds as needed to close the year ending Dec. 31, 2024; that motion was made by Council Member Kastner and seconded by Council Member Redman.
The council’s minutes record that the adopted levy matches the proposed levy presented Sept. 25, 2024 and that the motions were carried by unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
