Trustees approve three-year Towne Webb contract for village website

Port Edwards trustees voted to accept a three-year contract with Towne Webb to provide and host the village website beginning Jan. 1, 2026.

Trustee Hammel moved to accept the contract and Trustee Pfluger seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote. Trustees discussed a one-time setup fee of $1,200 to be paid this year and annual fees of $1,220 for the two subsequent years — figures trustees summarized in discussion as totaling $2,420 over the full contract term.

"As soon as it's approved by the board level, I would sign this," a committee member said while presenting a one-page setup proposal that described Towne Webb's design and launch timeline. The presenter said the vendor would begin work after board approval and that the initial $1,200 payment would allow the site to come online on Jan. 1, 2026.

Trustee Pfluger said the primary consideration was ease of use for the staff member who will maintain the site. "This is easier than what I'm using now," Pfluger said, adding that user-friendliness was a top priority for the board when choosing a vendor.

Trustees also noted that migration of existing website content was not included in the proposed package and would require a separate quote. The presenting committee member said Towne Webb was willing to provide a migration quote but that the cost was uncertain because the current site contains a large amount of content.

The presenter confirmed the $1,200 initial payment is available in the village's IT budget line for the current year and that the board can budget for the recurring fees in the next fiscal year.
