The Farmington Central Community Unit School District 265 board on Monday approved a resolution directing the superintendent to prepare the fiscal year 2027 budget and carried a series of routine procurement and personnel measures.
In a roll-call vote the board approved the resolution instructing district staff to draft the FY27 budget. Chair led the meeting and the resolution was presented for the August meeting budget delivery.
Trustees also approved sole-source food-service contracts: Prairie Farms was accepted for milk for the 2026–27 school year and Alpha Baking Company for bread; both bids were reported as the only submissions and were approved unanimously.
The board approved a transportation committee recommendation to purchase a new 82–83 passenger diesel bus from Central State Bus Sales for $183,270. Trustees discussed capacity, under‑storage and engine type before voting.
On personnel matters, the board approved a slate of volunteer and seasonal coaches and sponsors recommended by district athletics administration, including appointments across boys and girls sports, music and activity sponsors. The board also approved hires including a high‑school ELA teacher and a cafe worker, and acknowledged the resignation of a class sponsor. All recorded motions carried with unanimous or voice votes as noted in the minutes.
The meeting ended with routine items on policies (second readings adopted as presented) and scheduling: the board confirmed next steps for budget presentation and left other substantive items, including county sales‑tax discussions and calendar adjustments, for follow‑up at future meetings.
The board adjourned; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the research center/library.
