The Montrose City Council approved multiple public-works contracts at its Aug. 12 meeting, including a $251,365.40 award for the 24th Street improvement project and smaller maintenance contracts for municipal facilities.
City engineer Jared reported that GMH Asphalt of Chaska was the low bidder for schedules B and D of the 24th Street improvement work; council approved a resolution to award that portion of the project and a separate resolution to execute a petition/waiver agreement after confirming affected property owners had signed assessment agreements.
The council also approved a final pay estimate of $10,997.50 for the Bridal Lane drainage project.
For routine maintenance, council approved combined seal-coating and restriping bids for the City Hall and Community Center parking lots, awarding $11,580 to H and S Seal Coating Inc., and approved MP Asphalt to perform crack filling on specified streets and trails for $10,800.
Council members said they would continue prioritizing life-safety and critical-infrastructure items as staff returns additional quotes for other facility needs. No formal dissent was recorded on the contractual approvals, and all motions carried with recorded aye votes.
