City staff reported on Nov. 12 that the Comfrey solar project has begun, with underground electrical work completed and required permits secured.
Fire Chief S. Berberich told the council that all wastewater-plant pumps have been pulled and maintenance was completed. Council approved purchasing new tires for a city truck under the State bid from T & C Service Center at a cost of $1,890 installed (motion by Arnsdorf, second by Kastner).
Mayor Richter reported an update on the community fiber project: crews have dug service lines to homes (13 homes completed last week with about a dozen more scheduled) and are ready to start connecting service to residences. Separately, Fire Chief Berberich reported the department’s new trainee, Justin Rosenstengel, has started classes (two weekly classes plus one Saturday monthly through May 15), and the department’s ISO insurance inspection went well; the department remains a Class 6.
