On July 9, 2026, the Oak Forest Cable Commission met in City Council Chambers and approved the minutes from May 2026. The commission recorded that no financial statements had been submitted for all of 2025 or for January through March 2026, and it noted a continuing need for new members and a new secretary.
The treasurer’s report stated that financial reports for the stated periods were not received and that the treasurer had 'received nothing from Colleen or Beth,' as recorded in the minutes. The minutes do not include a mover, a seconder or a vote tally for the approval of the May minutes, and they do not identify who provided the treasurer’s update.
Commissioners also noted there were no updates from Comcast, Astound or AT&T, and that no members of the public addressed the commission during audience participation. The Oak Forest Broadcast Network was noted to be airing the Oak Forest Senior Luncheon program.
Under old business the commission reiterated the lack of submitted financial reports and the vacancy in the secretary position; the minutes state the commission still needs new members. Under new business the minutes record no email or voicemail communications to report. The commission decided an executive session was not necessary and adjourned, scheduling its next meeting for Aug. 13, 2026.
What the minutes show and what they do not: the record documents the absence of required financial reports for the periods listed, but it does not identify who is responsible for submitting those reports, does not provide any dollar figures or accounting detail, and does not record any formal motion or vote tied to the treasurer’s report. The commission did not record any public comments or formal action beyond approving the May minutes.
