Trustees postpone sewer-bill refund request to October

The Village of Jemez Springs Village Council voted unanimously Sept. 17 to postpone consideration of a sewer-bill refund request by Steven Anderson until the October meeting.
Mayor Mike Nealeigh introduced Mr. Anderson’s request and said staff efforts to locate documentation showing 20 years of automatic payments had not produced new information. The mayor emphasized that changes to sewer accounts are the responsibility of the account holder and said, in his view, making a change retroactive to a period before a request was made was not warranted.
Trustee Manolito Sanchez moved to postpone consideration until October; Trustee James McCue seconded the motion. The minutes record the vote as unanimous.
