Jemez Springs approves $320,000 GRO Fund agreement and adopts $9,650 budget adjustment

The Village of Jemez Springs Village Council unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) Sept. 17 that will bring $320,000 in GRO Fund support to the village. Finance Director Jim Cox told trustees the funding will be split: $160,000 for general village operations and $160,000 to fund wellness services in the greater Jemez Valley.
During the Finance Board meeting portion of the agenda, which convened at 6:40 p.m., Cox also reported that audits for prior fiscal years 2022 and 2023 are nearing completion and that $181,520 in outstanding payables was carried into the current fiscal year. He reiterated a plan to eliminate that outstanding balance using GRO funds and other receivables.
The council also adopted Resolution 2024-026 to add $9,650 from Sandoval County to the village operating budget for the Communications & Customer Service Initiative. Trustee Robert Wilson moved to adopt the resolution; Trustee Manolito Sanchez seconded. Both the IGA and the resolution were approved by unanimous vote. The Finance Board then adjourned and the regular council meeting reconvened at 6:53 p.m.
