At the April 9 Cloud Lake Town Council meeting, Deputy/Sheriff Jason Ekstrom of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported three incidents since the prior report: two vehicle burglaries (one on Shannondale, one on Wilson Road) and one fraud/identity‑theft case. He told the council that a homeless encampment that had been in town has been removed following coordination with county partners.
Battalion Chief Martinez of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reported one fire and one medical call during the reporting period and presented a six‑minute video titled “Inside Palm Beach County Fire Rescue” summarizing services; he also noted that Palm Beach County is now out of drought conditions.
The building official and the town clerk said they are preparing for an Insurance Services Office (ISO) evaluation of the Building Department; Cloud Lake has held a Class 3 ISO rating since 1998, which can affect insurance underwriting. An ISO reviewer is scheduled to be on‑site at Town Hall on May 21 for an all‑day inspection and report completion. Code enforcement also reported coordinating with the county and PBSO on removal of the homeless encampment.
